dads

I thought I'd write about something cute that happened the other day. Chance and I were talking about this little baby coming soon and all that and I said, "Think of this. You get to be the first man she ever loves." He got this cute genuine look of realization/pride and said, "That's true!" It was so cute to see, haha. People who know Chance know that he is joker/prankster numero uno (which I love, haha, it keeps things funny and entertaining) but what a lot of people don't see is this precise side to him. I can already see that this little girl is going to wrap him around her finger. Heck, she already has! He always says, "Man, this is the longest 9 months of my life!" I still think I can say that statement a little more truthfully, haha, but I love that he is so ready for her to be here, and has been for a while. Fathers are awesome. I was lucky to get a wonderful one and I'm so happy my daughter will be able to say the same. I know everyone always goes on and on about the influence of good mothers but I think a lot of times fathers are totally underrated. They are so so important, especially in a girl's life. Can't wait to see Chance become one!

On a side note, I'm still just 1 cm dilated but I'm about 70% effaced as of yesterday. Also, I'm glad because the doctor said her head is quite low down, which is great! I wouldn't say it feels great (see melon in crotch analogy below) but I'm glad because it means progress. :)
