1st grade!
So I know it was only the first day, and even though I do feel slightly off balance thinking of all the stuff I have to do in the next 4 weeks...I think I'm gonna love it. I started my practicum today and I'm in a first grade classroom. It's so funny, I always get this happy feeling when I step into an elementary school (heck, maybe I'll be singing a different tune after this month!) but honestly I know I'm in the right place. I love it. It's crazy and hard (contrary to popular believe, elementary teachers have it tough!) but I love it. I can't wait to get to know these kids more. Part of me has to say, "Aw they are so little, they're just babies!" and part of me says, "I know these kids are so smart." Basically today, we just introduced ourselves and got oriented with the classroom and planned for a bit. Oh, I got to grade spelling tests too. Oh yeah! More to come...:)

Elementary teachers= My heros! Seriously...I think they've got one of THE hardest jobs in the world! I can barely survive having 3 elementary aged kids....let alone a whole classroom!! Yikes! You'll do great Anna, I'm sure! Plus think of all the practice you've had (being married to Chance, who is, after all, very much like elementary kids)!

ReplyDeleteYou are going to be such a great elementary school teacher! All those little boys are going to have a crush on you though! :) I love Jamie's comment about Chance being like an elementary kid...Ha ha ha!
